We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond. Our wedding was in Fayetteville, AR, but we live in New York City. The day after the wedding, we returned all the gifts bought off the registery. After the honeymoon, we went to the Bed Bath and Beyond in New York and repurchased all the gifts we got, and then some. It worked out really nicely.
